The ways you can contribute to Chaos Daycare

We’re building a small team to create a playable Unreal Engine prototype focused on fun, chaos, and co-op gameplay.

Goal is a fun, playable prototype (potential to take it further after 👀)

 

🧠 Unreal Gameplay Developer

Builds the core gameplay systems - player interactions, baby AI, chaos systems, and multiplayer foundations.

  • pick up / carry babies
  • simple baby AI (wander, cry, sleep)
  • basic chaos system (mess, noise, escalation)
  • interactable objects (gates, toys, etc.)

👉 Turns the idea into something playable.

 

🎨 3D Artist (Props / Characters / Environment)

Creates the visual world - Creating stylised baby characters, the daycare environment, and key gameplay props (toys, furniture, gates); modelling, UVing, and texturing assets; ensuring everything is readable, consistent, and optimised for Unreal; supporting gameplay by building assets that clearly communicate interaction and chaos.
👉 Defines how the game looks and feels.

 

⚙️ Technical Artist

Setting up and implementing assets in Unreal; rigging babies (wriggle, squash/stretch), integrating animations, creating simple shaders/materials, handling physics setups, adding VFX for interactions (mess, impacts, feedback), and optimising assets to ensure everything runs smoothly in-game.
👉 Makes assets functional and performant.

 

🧩 Game Designer / UI-UX

Designing the core gameplay experience; defining baby behaviours, traits, and chaos systems; balancing needs and interactions; creating UI (needs indicators, prompts, chaos meter); ensuring everything is intuitive, readable, and fun during fast-paced co-op gameplay.
👉 Shapes the player experience and clarity.

 

🔊 Sound Designer & SFX

Creating and implementing audio for gameplay; baby sounds (crying, babbling), interaction feedback (pickup, drops, mess), and environmental audio; designing clear, playful SFX that support gameplay readability and chaos; adding event stingers and supporting adaptive music integration.
👉 Brings the world to life and adds impact to chaos.

 

📋 Co-Producer

Supporting project coordination and delivery; organising tasks, timelines, and communication; helping maintain scope and priorities; ensuring the team stays aligned and the prototype is completed on time.
👉 Keeps everything moving forward.
